I've launched a new sponsorship program, complete with interviews and giveaways, because there are so many folks I want to share with you who are doing amazing work in the world, and also because we love giveaways like nobody's business around here.
This week's sponsor feature is Anna Wingfield, of Napa Valley au Naturel, a one-woman plant-healing-blendmistress show. She's giving away a customized bespoke perfume, which might coincide beautifully with your words/intentions for the new year. She walks closely to the Earth and I have loved getting to know her in my live circles and through SouLodge. She's an unbelievably dedicated mother and craftswoman. Gratitude to Anna for rocking out her well-crafted vision and sharing it with us.

My motivation for creating Napa Valley au Naturel was a desire to connect and serve my community in a domain where my passion lies. To uplift in a gentle soft way with Mother Nature as my guide.
How did you begin connecting with plant medicine?
I believe I connected with plant medicine at birth. My parents are the 'Mother Earth News' type and we always had a large organic garden with canning going on in the kitchen and cultivation going on out in the yard. What I remember most is my dad's large rose garden where I spent a lot of time admiring, sniffing and appreciating. My mother says that as a little girl I carried around a 'scratch and sniff' catalogue of roses and would ask complete strangers - do you want to smell my roses? I guess this wanting to connect around plant medicine has continued to grow for me. I studied and worked in France for several years as a young woman and although I was in the telecommunications field, what I really loved was the pharmacies (with their herbal and aromatherapy concoctions) and perfumeries and spent most of my free time in these locations. When I returned to the United States I began my studies in aromatherapy and flower essences and became certified in both fields. While in France I had a quote from Rumi on my wall that said - let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love - and I decided to do this.
Tell us about your relationship to the work you do in the world:
My relationship with my work is one of great love and understanding. I deeply love what I do and feel so blessed to be called to partake in the bigger picture in this way. However, with three school aged children I wear many hats and my work is not always on the top of the priority list, but it is patient. I so enjoy how thoughts of new products or perfumes and potions I am creating for an individual float in and out of my mind as I carry out the rhythm of my day and it feels very symbiotic. I may come up with a great recipe while doing breakfast dishes or drying off a wet child after a bath and there isn't any great lightbulb that flashes or drumroll - just a quiet knowing that it takes as long as it takes and all of our interests and desires can weave a mighty beautiful web, together.
And where do you find that your inspiration comes from?
What inspires me to do this work is the forum to connect with people in a meaningful way and a canvas to create layers and levels of scent and vibration to help comfort and possibly heal hearts, minds, spirits and bodies. It seems all I have to do is show up and the magic begins. People share intimate details of their lives with me and ask my opinion, and if I have a product to support them and it makes me feel incredibly honored to be of service in this way. Also, to have a skill that is part learned, and often intuited, keeps me in touch with grace. When I settle down to create it is as if Spirit has its hand on my shoulder and the knowledge of so many that came before is being shared in a silent conversation. Working with plant medicine is a form of worship and a venue for connecting with the Divine for me. As the poet e.e. cummings says so eloquently when speaking of the leaping greenly spirits of trees, I, too, am thankful for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.
